Woman, 22, banned from buying Xmas crackers

A 22-year-old was banned from buying a box of Christmas crackers because shop staff feared she was too young under the 1875 Explosives Act
.
Art student Heather Welsh was stunned when she was told the crackers were classed as explosives, reports The Sun.

She had picked out a box of ten crackers at Marks & Spencer in York and was amazed to be asked by check-out staff if she was 16 or over.

Pilot: 'I'm not qualified to land'

A pilot flew 80 passengers from Cardiff to Paris then told them: "We have to turn back - I'm not qualified to land."

The pilot took the decision after thick fog cut visibility to 700 metres at Charles de Gaulle airport and he told passengers he was not trained to land the aircraft in such conditions.

So, they flew the 300 miles back to Cardiff airport - having left just hours earlier.

New aftershave bottles changing room smell

The smell of a football changing room has been made into a new aftershave.

Scent of Success is created from a blend of grass, sweat, boot leather and heat spray, reports the Daily Telegraph.

It is made by Sports Interactive, who also make cult computer game Football Manager.
They say it has been created from samples collected from a number of successful teams' dressing rooms.

Miles Jacobson, a spokesman for Sports Interactive, said the aftershave will be given away with copies of Football Manager 2009, which was released last month.

He said: "If Britney Spears and Kerry Katona can have their own fragrance I don't see why we can't.
